"What is Lavender 40/42?"
A blend of different species of lavender essential oils

"What is the purpose of Lavender 40/42?"
Each strain of lavender plant has its own unique properties and aroma profile, so lavender 40/42 was created, primarily with the perfume industry in mind, to combine the best aspects of different lavenders. This lavender blend is designed to be a showcase of the ideal aroma makeup of a lavender oil.

Being a natural product, each batch of lavender oil ends up slightly different than the last. By blending oils to reach a certain fixed scent, perfumers have a consistent and ideal lavender odor they can rely on.

"What does 40/42 mean?"
40/42 refers to the constituent makeup of the finished blend. 40% linalool and 42% linalyl acetate, the remaining 18% are simply other natural constituents and aroma compounds of lavenders

Linalool and linalyl acetate are naturally occurring aroma compounds found in all lavender plants, they are what give lavender its characteristic floral smell.

"Which lavender oils are used to make it?"
Because each oil of each lavender strain smells slightly different each time it is harvested, the ratios of oils used changes. What stays consistent is the makeup of 40% linalool and 42% linalyl acetate.

The lavender essential oils used to reach this 40/42 ratio are:
Lavandula Angustifolia (common lavender aka English lavender)
Lavandula Hybrida (lavandin)
Lavandula Latifolia (spike lavender aka Portuguese broad-leaved lavender)
Lavandula Stoechas (topped lavender aka French or Spanish lavender)

"What can I use Lavender 40/42 for?"
For smelling! If you use lavender oil purely for its scent, lavender 40/42 is what you want! Beautifully floral, delicate, and uplifting- every time.

"My customers buy essential oils for therapeutic purposes, not for their scent, does Lavender 40/42 still have therapeutic properties?"

Yes, Lavender 40/42 can be used for aromatherapy applications because it is made up of only Lavender Essential Oils

This is an essential oil blend. Absolutely none of our essential oils are cut, diluted, or adulterated in any way. This blend does NOT have fragrance oils in it and is NOT cut with any carrier oil. As such, it should be treated as any other undiluted pure essential oils would be.

Other company's products may NOT be the same, so please read carefully if you are doing research! Ours is all-natural and made ONLY of real, pure, highest-grade-achievable essential oils.

Some companies, especially those with low-cost products or products tailored to the perfume industry, will offer lavender 40/42 that is made up of a fragrance-EO blend, and/or will cut their product with other additives like preservatives, stabilizers, anti-oxidants, etc.
